Obituary for Bradley M. Giesting

Bradley M. Giesting, 31, died Saturday, October 22, 2016, at his childhood home surrounded by his family. He was born July 15, 1985 to Jerry and Vicky Giesting, and grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio with his two sisters, Sarah (Tony) diFrancesca and Emily (Jeremy) White, and two brothers, Greg (Lauren) and Ryan Giesting. He was a proud graduate of Guardian Angels School ('00) and McNicholas High School ('04) where he made lifetime friends, played football, and celebrated being an angel and a rocket.

Following high school graduation, Brad enlisted in the army and served in the 101st Airborne Division stationed in Fort Campbell, KY as a wheel vehicle mechanic. Brad completed a tour of duty in Balad, Iraq from 2005 - 2006.

After Brad was honorably discharged in 2008, he married his high school sweetheart, Annie (nee Watson). They returned to Cincinnati and had two beautiful daughters, Hailey (2010) and Lucy (2011). Brad proudly supported his family as a diesel technician.

Brad loved spending time with his girls, being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was skilled at carpentry and had a knack for home improvement. Even during rigorous cancer treatments, Brad built a beautiful new kitchen for Annie and a backyard playhouse for his daughters. Late this summer, when he could no longer do the work himself, he brainstormed and supervised the construction of a floating dock at his sisters lake house for his daughters, nieces and nephews.

Brad battled cancer in the same way that he lived life -- bravely, honorably and with an amazing sense of humor.
