Obituary for Albert Havlis

Albert "Big Daddy" Havlis, Retired Specialist with 33 years of service with the Cincinnati Police Department. Al was an 1132 Living Legend. Died September 12th, 2018. Residence Mt. Washington. He was the beloved husband of 66 years to Virginia Cohen Havlis, devoted father of Thomas Havlis, Suzette (Michael) Doll, Paul (Cindy) Havlis, and Mary (Mark) Rogers, loving grandfather of Kieley Doll, Maxwell and Sam Havlis, and Rex Rogers, and dear brother of Marianne Reuscher and the late Leonard Havlis. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. He was known as "Big Al" to his family and taught them many things about kindness, to never give up, and to be humble. He was a longtime parishioner at Guardian Angels Church and lived his life through his faith. Al proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He was a dedicated member of American Legion Post 484 and the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree Knight). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Guardian Angels Church on Monday, September 17th at 10:30 am. Friends may visit at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave., Mt. Washington, on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm with F.O.P. Queen City Lodge #69 services at 4:45 pm.
