Alex H. Keller passed away peacefully on August 17, 2022 at the age of 88. He grew up in Dallas, Texas and was always proud of his Texas roots. He graduated with high honors from Southern Methodist University and, at the age of 19, had already achieved his initial career goal, becoming the then youngest-ever by-line reporter of The Dallas Morning News. Following graduation, Alex entered the Air Force, spending eight years on active and reserve duty, and flying as a navigator on one of the first B-52 crews. Alex went to work for Procter and Gamble in 1959, working his way up from salesman through the management ranks in Dallas, New Orleans, Memphis, and Cincinnati until his retirement in 1989 as a US National Sales Manager. While at Procter and Gamble, he served three years in England as National Sales Director and then two years as President and General Manager of P&G Philippines. During his time in the Philippines, Alex was instrumental in the founding of the Filipino American Memorial Endowment (FAME) for the purpose of ongoing preservation and maintenance of World War II memorials in the Philippines. After his retirement from P&G, Alex worked as a consultant, formed and operated an international trading business, volunteered as a guest Economics instructor at area high schools, and served as an arbitrator for both the Better Business Bureau and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Alex was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and leaves behind many who loved and admired him. He is survived by his wife, Joan, his daughters Laurie (Gary) Cochrane and Lynne (Mark) Anderson, his son Robert (Shawna) Keller, and his son-in-law Thomas Kuhn, as well as ten grandchildren (Brian, Melanie, Sarah, Stephen, Carolyn, Benjamin, Alison, Alyssa, Lindsey, and Jake), and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Joans sons Phillip (Cynthia) Brown and Christopher (Amy) Brown and daughter Leslie (Sasha) Kolesnikov, and their children (Nick, Katie, Grace, Madelaine, Owen, Liam, Teddy, Jack and Ava). In all, Alex leaves a legacy of over 50 people in his extended family, for whom he regularly expressed his pride and love. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gayle Wadsworth Keller, and his daughter, Melissa Keller. Alex faithfully attended Anderson Hills United Methodist Church for 50 years, serving on the church board and leading numerous committees and projects. He worked tirelessly for the Methodist Church, the Methodist Seminary in Columbus, the Conference and the District. He has been an active member of Coldstream Country Club for 50 years and loved his many, long-time golfing friends. Alex regularly expressed his gratitude for a blessed life, and he worked hard to fulfill his commitments to his family, his country and his faith. He was a good friend to countless people and will be greatly missed. Those who knew him will remember Alex Keller as a true example of a life well lived. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Anderson Hills United Methodist Church, 7515 Forest Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45255. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 11:00am at Anderson Hills United Methodist Church with a reception following at Coldstream Country Club, 400 Asbury Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45255.
