Obituary for Burch Reason Riber, Jr.
Burch Reason Riber, Jr., age 87 of Anderson Twp., died January 5, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Charlotte Boyd Riber, devoted father of Connie Riber Cissel, Susan (Bruce) Treut, Sam (Filio) Riber, loving grandfather of Peter and Robert Treut, Samuel Burch, and Nina Elise, and Evie Katherine Riber, dear brother of the late Katie, Marty, Ruthie, and Marg Riber.
Burch's greatest loves were family, friends, golf, thoroughbred horse racing, The Ohio State Buckeyes, fine wines, "the Grappa" and occasionally providing unsolicited advice after a few glasses of wine and/or Grappa. His professional accomplishments include twenty nine years at Taft Broadcasting, twenty-seven years as Tournament Chairman for every professional golf tournament staged in Cincinnati (Ohio Kings Island Open: 1973-1977, LPGA Championship: 1978-1989, Kroger Senior Classic: 1990-1999) and the founding of Riber Sports Marketing Group in 1983. Burch also served as the Executive Director of the International Golf Association from 1985-1999, running World Cup of Golf tournaments and qualifiers on every continent, but one.
Memorial Service will be held at Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church,1345 Grace Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45208 on Friday, January 17th at 11 am. Reception Immediately following the Service at Coldstream Country Club, 400 Asbury Road, Cincinnati, OH 45255.
