Obituary for Daniel R. "Dan" Chadwell

Print
Daniel Robert Chadwell- loving husband, son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, friend, musician, and social worker- passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 in his home in Bellevue, KY following a long battle with depression. He was born in Cincinnati, OH on May 28, 1990. Dan was a deeply loving, compassionate, and intelligent man. He was an idealist who held firmly that the world could change to embrace all people, and lived out that potential every day. As he would say, he was a "passionate, passionate man." It is impossible to sum up a man who was so caring, genuine, quirky, and vivacious. Those qualities were evident to everyone around him. He enriched the lives of countless colleagues and students. Dan graduated from McNicholas High School in 2008 and went on to graduate with a bachelor's in psychology from Ohio University. Earlier this year, he proudly graduated with a master's in social work from Northern Kentucky University. He was so deeply driven to help others despite his own pains. He was an avid drummer and guitar player, horror movie enthusiast, stealer of the AUX cord, and pizza aficionado with a quick wit and vibrant heart. Dan's light will be carried eternally by his beloved wife, Alley Fanesi Chadwell (Miller), devoted parents Dave and Jonna, loving brother John, adoring grandparents John & Lillian (Chadwell) and late Robert & Rita (Benkert), sisters-in-law Sarah (Chadwell), Lily (Miller), & Jacki (Sparks), brother-in-law Jacob (Miller), and parents-in-law Anita & Brian (Karwowski) and Larry (Miller). Dan is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as a niece (Charlotte Miller) and nephew (Jaxon Sparks). He will be missed by countless friends, coworkers, mentors, two kitties, and all the lives who are immeasurably better because of him. We will all carry Dan's love in our hearts and use that love he had for us to carry on his legacy of making the world a better place. Service at T P WHITE & SONS Funeral Home 2050 Beechmont Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45230 (Mt. Washington) on Thur. Nov. 8, at 6 PM. Visitation will be held on Thur. from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
REMEMBERANCE: Please help us break the destructive silence and stigma surrounding mental illness and depression by making a donation in Dan's name to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Southwest Ohio chapter in lieu of flowers. Checks can be mailed to NAMI Southwest Ohio, 4055 Executive Park Drive, Suite 450, Cincinnati, OH 45241 or online at https://namiswoh.org/donate/
