Dolores Hoffer (nee Cappel), age 87, of Anderson Township, passed peacefully on March 11, 2022, surrounded by family. Beloved wife of Ed Hoffer; cherished mother of Jean and Paul (Matt); loving grandmother to Madeleine, Noah, Casey, and Ava. Also survived by siblings Janet and Bob, many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Dolores was preceded in death by parents Marie and Herbert Cappel, and sisters Marilyn, Lorraine, and Alice. Dolores was born on October 5, 1934, to Herbert and Marie Cappel and raised in Mount Washington. Dolores graduated from McNicholas High School in 1952. She worked as a secretary for P&G, and later McNicholas, Thomas Moore, and Guardian Angels. In 1957, Dolores married Ed Hoffer. After raising their two children, Jeannie and Paul, Dolores returned to the work force as a secretary and then Director of Human Resources at Richards Industries. Dolores was committed to the community and her faith. She was especially involved with the Cursillo, and the Guardian Angels Parish Twinning Project to support victims of Hurricane Katrina. Dolores brought love and joy to so many. Through her example, Dolores taught us what is truly important, and how life should be lived. We will forever carry these lessons in our hearts.
