Ernie was my associate, a friend, and a mentor. He was a skilled, caring, and loving physician. He had a great sense of humor and
always had a positive outlook. He had the uncanny ability to focus on the good in things. I was blessed to have him as a part of my life.

Dr Rolfes was pediatrician for me and all my brothers and sisters in the 1960s, in the small office building on Colerain as you'd go from Mt Airy to Groesbeck. Good memories of him! Rest in peace.
