Obituary for Evelyn Virginia Fusaro (nee Roos)

Evelyn Virginia (née Roos) Fusaro, born on August 25, 1928, died peacefully on October 23 in hospice care at the age of 92. She is predeceased by her husband Jack R. Davis, her son Dr. Jack C. Davis of Middletown, Ohio, and her son Glenn Fusaro. She leaves behind her loving husband of 51 years, Armando (Fooz) Fusaro. Together they raised a blended family of five children without the aid of a wisecracking live-in housekeeper a la Alice of Brady Bunch fame. She will be greatly missed by the surviving members of that blended family: Holly Davis (husband Julian Tyson), Daniel Davis (wife Karen), and Gregg Fusaro. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Alexander Calhoun (wife Ashley Freeman) of Boston, Elizabeth Reyes (husband Abraham) of Philadelphia, Jake Davis (fiancé Keisha McRoberts) of Cincinnati, Allison Davis of Cincinnati, Carey Johnson (husband Tom) of Annapolis Maryland, Jill Wells (husband Spencer) of Lexington, Ky, Tony Fusaro (wife Anne) of Glen Ellyn, IL, Nicci Fusaro (fiancé Adam Kimura) of Costa Mesa, CA, and Danilo Fusaro of Cincinnati, as well as great-grandchildren: Ada Freeman, Amelia Calhoun, Saoirse Reyes, Henry Fusaro, Teddy Fusaro, and Luke Jack Johnson. She also leaves behind her loving brother John P. Roos (his wife Meredith, daughter Kathy) with whom she forged an inviolable bond during a mostly motherless childhood during the depression from which the two could still draw many entertaining and uproariously funny stories. She will be remembered by those who knew and loved her most for her wry sense of humor, ready laugh, lovely singing voice, myriad recipes for Christmas cookies, shapely calves, vaulting pride in even the most modest achievements of her children and grandchildren, and an unflagging capacity to see the glass that life poured for her as half full rather than half empty.
