Obituary for James "Jim" "Scooter" A. Hoelscher

James "Jim" A. Hoelscher "Scooter" to his teammates and "Grumpy Grandpa" to his granddaughters-passed away on Sept. 11, 2020. His loving spirit, sly and gentle humor will be missed dearly by wife J. Kathleen "Kathy" Hoelscher (nee Browne), daughter Janice Hoelscher, and granddaughters Victoria "Tori" and Alexandra "Alli" Hoelscher, daughter-in-law Martha Hoelscher and a whole team of nieces, nephews, and other family members who feel his loss so sharply. He is being greeted in the hereafter by son Lt. Colonel USAF Joseph A. Hoelscher, daughter Jacqueline McMillan, grandson Jeff McMillan and parents Lester and Christine (nee Becker) Hoelscher.

Jim lived much of his life on the baseball diamond-as a minor league Cleveland Indian and then playing for the All Air Force Team during his four year service with the Air Force. He was a lifelong member of American Legion Post 72 and worked for Procter and Gamble for over 30 years.

While he will be dearly missed, we know he has longed to be reunited with the family that went before him. The loss we feel here is eased by the joy we know he is feeling embracing his son, daughter, grandson, and other loved ones again.

Service at Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church, 681 Mt. Moriah Dr., Withamsville, on Fri. Sept. 18, at 1 PM. Friends may visit at the Church on Fri. from 12 Noon to 1 PM. US Air Force honors will be held at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Autism Society of Cincinnati or the Anderson Twp. Historical Society.
