Obituary for Jeanne H. Lucas (Malas)

Jeanne Helen Lucas (nee Malas), 93, born in Cincinnati, OH to James and Ruth Malas, went peacefully to be with the Lord on February 20, 2023 after a brief but difficult battle with cancer. Jeanne was the beloved wife of Norman B Lucas, Jr. (deceased) for 57 years, and mother of three children; Sherylyn (Brent) Acton, Marc (Ann) Lucas, and Steve (Sheri) Lucas. A proud grandmother, she adored her seven grandchildren; Nicholas (Mandy) Stewart, Stephanie (Wade) Willin, Katherine Lucas, Jennifer Lucas, Madeleine Lucas, Dana (Thomas) Krutka and Kara (J.R.) Stoll. She was blessed with three great-grandchildren; Vada Stewart, Hayes Stewart and Nora Willin. She was preceded in death by her brother James Malas and sister Diane Rogge and survived by her brother Barry Malas.

Jeanne's unwavering love for her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren played a fundamental role in her daily life. She relished any opportunity to spend time with family and friends, including going out dancing, travelling to over 30 countries, playing bridge and gardening. She made lifelong friends everywhere, from her time growing up in Mount Washington, attending St. Joseph Academy (now McNicholas High School) where she was voted Homecoming Queen and later, University of Cincinnati, where she was a Bearcat Cheerleader. She later was a member of Rosie Reds for over 25 years, getting to know many players in the process. She enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Her family will miss her dearly, however they find peace in knowing she is at peace with God and we look forward to the constant quiet reminders of her presence.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 25, from 11 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave., Mt. Washington at 12:30 PM. Interment will take place immediately following at Greenlawn Cemetery in Milford, OH.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
