Obituary for John F. Wilz

John Frederick Wilz was born July 1, 1951 to the late Paul and Dorothea Wilz. He was brought to the fullness of life and love in God's presence on February 25th. 2022. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Joe Wilz (Debbie), Margery Hardy (Doug), Mary Kasper (Rick), Marcia Wilz (Tom), Burke O'Neal (Lura), and Kay Oestreicher (Neal). He took pleasure in his many nieces and nephews.

John grew up in Fort Thomas, KY. He went to Covington Latin School following in his father and brother's footsteps, excelling in baseball and basketball. He graduated from Thomas More College with a degree in Mathematics. John loved music and played the keyboard and piano. While in college he formed a band with his friends and played at local dances.

After graduation he worked 30 years for the Federal Aviation Administration as a pilot weather briefer. While working he received numerous letters of appreciation for his effective managing skills and also Peer Recognition Awards.

Through the years his hobbies included gardening, home remodeling, playing the piano, and skiing with the Dayton Ski Club. After retirement he joined bible studies and became passionate about good health and a holistic approach to medicine. He also enjoyed taking classes at the Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Dayton where he met his dear friend Trish Klingensmith.
Above all he cherished his family and appreciated every invitation to spend time together. His kind and gentle character and desire to share life and to love and be loved will be a memory we all treasure.

John was always eager to share his knowledge of the stock market, especially with his nephews. But John's true treasure was in heaven. His faith in his Savior was more precious to him than gold. In Christ alone was his hope.
