John ("Jack") F. Cardosi, M.D., resident of Mt. Washington for the past 64 years, age 92 years, died Oct. 27, 2018, beloved husband for 65 years to the late Joan M. Cardosi (nee Gerver) and devoted father of Sue (Dennis) Fisher, Mark (Patricia) Cardosi, Sally Cardosi, and Sharon (Bob) Sanker, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 27, 2018 surrounded by family. A grandson of Italian immigrants and son of a WWI Army Reserve nurse, and WW II veteran (USMC), Jack was the brother of Robert G. Cardosi, S.J. (deceased) and Thomas P. Cardosi (Marilyn, both deceased); grandfather to Brian (Christine), Kelly (Ryan), Jason (deceased), Julie (Dan), Eric (Stephanie), Maggie (Andrew), Caroline (Bryan), Caitrin, Holly, Michael, Stephen, Lainie (Gannon), and Tommy; and "Papa Jack" to 9 great-grandchildren: Jack, Ben, Nora, Alexander, Nate, Abby, Leo, Avery, and Emily. Jack served the medical needs of the Mt. Washington community for 38 years and, after retirement, volunteered his medical services for another 25 years to the McAuley Center in Cincinnati's East End. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Guardian Angels Church in Mt. Washington on Jack's 93rd birthday, Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 10:30am. Family and friends may visit at the church on Saturday from 9-10:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders.
