Obituary for June E. Flick

June E. Flick (nee Wheatley) wife of the late William Benton Flick, beloved mother of Russell Dale (Layne) Flick and Pamela Elaine (Tom) Hoctor, also survived by many nieces and nephews. June 28, 2019. Age 102 years. Formerly of Mt. Washington, residence the New England Club, Anderson Twp. Service at T P WHITE & SONS Funeral Home 2050 Beechmont Ave. Mt. Washington on Tues. July 2, at 1:30 PM. Friends may visit on Tues. from 12:30-1:30 PM. And a Memorial Service at the New England Club on Tues. at 3 PM. Memorials to the Peppermint Pig Thrift and Gift Animal Rescue or Grace Hospice.


As a child, June was trained in dance and voice with the Schuster Martin School, Cincinnati. For a time she sang on WLW Radio in the days when live music was a daily feature. Her soaring soprano voice practicing at home had neighbors, pedestrians pausing to listen. Devoted to her church, June served in many capacities as secretary with her flowing penmanship, training in parliamentary procedure, choir member. She was a strong supporter of the Cincinnati Public Schools serving as PTA president and in other capacities in the State of Ohio for over twenty-five years. In later years June volunteered with the Cincinnati Health Department neighborhood clinics assisting in pre and post natal care. She was a member of the Eastern Hills Garden Club; member Sons & Daughters of Pioneer Rivermen. She served as a board member, Mt. Washington Cemetery Restoration Co.’ from its inception.
