To the family and friends I express my sincere condolences for the loss of your dear love one. May you find strength and comfort from the words found at Psalms 46:1 which says "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress." Our living God is there for us if we ask for his help (1 John 5:14). He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the sure promise of a Resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored to a beautiful Paradise (Psalms 37:9-11,29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55:11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your love one? What a joy it will bring us all.

During high school I used to hang out at a UDF in Mt Washington after school waiting for a ride from my parents. One day I saw Mr Holt (we were raised to call our friends’ parents by their last name) stopping in for a milkshake. He offered to drive me home, and for the next year or two we carpooled together many times. I enjoyed chatting with him hearing stories about his days in the army and his work at the playing card company. Mr Holt used to try to scare us when we hung out with Kenny and Josh and all the other kids at the house but we knew he was a softy at heart. I’m sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye to him, but I’ll always remember him. Michael Finley
