Obituary for Lyda C. C. Davis
Lyda Catoe Davis, age 83 of Cincinnati and formerly of Lancaster, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Lyda was the daughter of the late Oscar Samuel Catoe, Sr. and the late Lucy Williams Catoe. She was the seventh of eight children, and the last surviving Catoe sibling. She was a doting sister and devoted aunt to her many nieces and nephews, playing a special role in the lives of Sharon Edwards Horton and Oscar Samuel Catoe III (Sam). Lyda retired from Founders Federal Credit Union, after previously working fo several real estate attorneys in Lancaster.
Lyda was preceded in death by the love of her life, Charles M. Davis. She is survived by her only child, Sheri Davis Kennington (Kathy Hall), her grandchildren, Lauren Kennington Martin (Jim) and D. Paul Kennington (Megan), and her three great grandchildren, Wyatt Martin, Ellis Martin, and Cora Kennington. She delighted in being a grandmother and great grandmother.
For as long as she was able, Lyda enjoyed walking outside. In lieu of memorials, please think of Lyda the next time you walk outside and feel the sunshine on your face. She will be incredibly missed by everyone she touched. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
