Margo A. Ackerman (nee Dawson), age 86 of Anderson Twp. died June 8, 2023. Daughter of the late Edwin and Margaret Dawson. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles A. Ackerman and beloved mother of Fr. James Ackerman, SJ, Theodore (Amy) Ackerman, Charles (Christine) Ackerman, and loving grandmother of Anna, Charlotte, Timothy, and Julia Ackerman. Dear sister of Ted (Margaret) Dawson. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Margo was fiery and funny, classy and high spirited, courageous and compassionate, mother and father. She could be found teaching her boys to fish, hosting creative birthday parties, sponsoring her sons' baseball team, or attending her son's ordination. Margo had the grit and determination to lead her exuberant, bold, and steady life on her terms. She was a passionate Bengals and Bearcats fan, loved her swimming pool, sporting events, and most of all her family and faith. Devotee of the rosary, she fostered a respect for God and country. Attending the Summit Country Day School and University of Cincinnati, she became a teacher then raised a family. Rising to the challenge of being widowed at age 34, Margo forged her way forward in the medical arts field finding success in helping doctor and patient navigate the labyrinth of health care administration. With wit and wisdom she instilled a playful optimism in her children, grandchildren, and all whom she met. Margo will be sorely missed and fondly remembered as a life force that pulsated amid adversity. Mass of Christian burial will be held at Guardian Angels Church, Mt. Washington on Wed., June 14 at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be held on Tues., June 13 from 6 - 8 PM at T. P. WHITE & SONS Funeral Home 2050 Beechmont Ave. Mt. Washington.
