Obituary for Maurice James "Jim" Howe Jr.

Maurice James "Jim" Howe, Jr., was a resident of Anderson Township. He passed away on June 26, 2021 at the age of 73 with his family by his side. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Linda Howe (nee West), their children Heather (Bryan) Corwin and Stephanie (David) Ralston, former wife, Nancy Seipel (nee Dennemann), their children Meredith (Kevin Klingelhafer) Easton, Christian (Katrina) Howe, Eric (Heather) Howe, and James (Caitlin) Howe, brother Jack (Mary) Howe, nephews Dr. Evan (Meagen) Howe, their sons Sean and Seamus, and Rev. Nathan (Megan) Howe.

Jim was the proud Papa of Grace, Lydia, Alexandria, Cameron, Chase, Kylie, Brendan, Ruby, Lucy, Julia, Benjamin, Gavin, and Sawyer.

Jim grew up in Ashtabula, Ohio and moved to Cincinnati following his graduation from Saint John High School. He attended the Saint Gregory Seminary in Mount Washington and studied philosophy for three years before his heart was pulled in another direction. Jim joined the Cincinnati Police Department in 1968. He served the city for 27 years as a Sergeant, a member of the SWAT team, and an internal investigator.

Following his retirement, Jim enjoyed a second career working for AirNet Systems based in Columbus, Ohio. He loved flying and traveled the country for many years teaching secure transportation of hazardous materials and defensive driving techniques to their employees.

Jim enjoyed watching sports, especially his beloved Cleveland Browns, golfing with his sons, losing quarters to St. John, target practice, telling stories, and making people laugh in his free time. He loved history and was an avid reader.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Kathleen Howe (nee Neeley), his infant sister, and three grandchildren, Amber and Ariel Easton, and Matthew Howe.

Jim will be fondly remembered by his family and friends.

A visitation will take place on Friday, July 9 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave., Mt. Washington, FOP honors will start at 2:00 PM followed by a memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Jim's memory can be made to the Greater Cincinnati Police Museum at 308 Reading Road, Cincinnati Ohio, 45202.
