Orsel Ogle Lamb, age 96, born August 26, 1924 in Jellico, Campbell County Tennessee and longtime resident of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Wednesday July 28, 2021, at Anthology of Anderson where he made his home the past two years. Mr. Lamb was owner of Lamb Construction Company where he was a Custom Home Builder in the Greater Cincinnati Area for over 40 years. He introduced the concept and process of home building inspections for real estate transactions within the surrounding area.

Mr. Lamb was the eldest of five children conceived by the late David Archen Lamb and Perneda Lamb (nee Hicks) of Jellico, Tennessee. During his childhood years, he and his family resided upon Lamb Mountain in Campbell County, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his four siblings: Kenson Lamb, David Lamb, Vivian Foley (nee Lamb), and Esther Daley (nee Lamb) along with two loving wives: Virginia Ruth Lamb (nee Foley) for 50 years and Mary Darlene Long Lamb (nee Smith) for 20 years.

He had an abundant love for family and his many nieces and nephews. Because of the unique marriage to Virginia Ruth Lamb, where siblings of one family married siblings from another family, special bonds developed between he and his sister Vivian Foley and his brother n law N.B. Foley and their three daughters: Barbara (Michael) Moore of Cincinnati, Ohio, Deborah (Patrick) Moore, Independence, Kentucky, and Sheila (David) Pettit Erlanger, Kentucky.

Mr. Lamb was an avid carpenter where his hobbies included building fine furniture and building extravagant mantel clocks which were gifted to family and friends. Uncle Orsel loved shaking hands with kids. They all learned that if they shook hands with him they would walk away with $20 in the palm of their hands. He was a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church of Newport Kentucky where he was a Deacon for many years.

Mr. Lamb was a decorated, WWII Army veteran, serving with the 378 Medical Collection Company. He received five Battle Stars and numerous other service award medals. He participated in the European Invasion at Anzio Beach in Italy, and fought numerous battles in Italy, Southern France, Central Europe, and the Battle of the Bulge in Rhineland, Germany.

In his life he helped numerous people, strangers, family and friends. His Dr. made the statement that he was” honored to call Orsel his patient but even more honored to call him his friend. He was the consummate gentleman with Christian integrity.”

Uncle Orsel was wonderful, kind, loving, giving, thoughtful man. He was unique in that he never smoked tobacco, never drank alcohol or use crude language. He’s going to be missed terribly, but I know where he is.
Love you Uncle Orsel
