Obituary for Ova T. Lowe

Ova T. Lowe, age 99 of Anderson Twp., died March 11, 2020. He was born in Wilton, Kentucky on June 24, 1920 and served in the U.S. Army for 7-1/2 years during WWII.

He had two sisters, Viola & Melba and a brother, Vernon who are all deceased. He married Helen Richey in 1941 while in the service. They had three children, Joyce, Dorleen, and Gary.

He received his GED from The School of Electronics after about 3 years. He had a TV Repair Shop and a SOHIO Oil Station in the East End area. He worked for the Cincinnati Union Terminal for 20 years and SENCO Products for 18 years, and retired in 1982.

Ova was a deacon at the Columbia Church of Christ for many years before coming to Mt. Washington Church of Christ in 1965. He enjoyed working at the church with many of the church members. The Church would often call for him to do little things around the church. He really liked working with Jim Root and the kitchen crew for supper clubs. He was an usher at the door of the church for many years and enjoyed it very much. He was chairman of the Trustees for years at Mt. Washington Church of Christ and a Deacon at the Church of Christ on Columbia Parkway.

Ova was well liked by many people and was a very generous and loving individual as well as a great husband and father.

He was a loving husband to Helen L. Lowe (nee Richey), devoted father of Gary T. (Kathy) Lowe, Joyce Ziegler, and Dorleen (Roger) McCrary, caring grandfather Jodale Albert, Travis (Jenny) McCrary, Chad (Jordan)& Casey (Ashley) Lowe, cherished great-grandfather of Cheyenne Albert, and adored great great-grandfather of Eli & Emma McCrary, Alliyha Albert, Kyler Taylor, Adrian, Peyton, Harper & Larkyn Lowe.

Funeral service will be held at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave., Mt. Washington, on Saturday, March 14th at 11:30 am. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 to 11:30 am.
