Obituary for Robert L. Ayscue

Robert Lee Ayscue, 66, of Amelia Ohio was born on January 3, 1957 and died on April 9, 2023. Beloved husband of Jodie Ellen Ayscue (nee Wilger), beloved father of Amy Ayscue and Holly Moore, Loving pops of Luke and Jake Moore and Ethan and Collin Evans. Brother of Jackie (Randy) Romani, Judy (Dan) Vanderpool, Jean (Jim) Stringer, and Ginny (Jeff) Winters. Uncle and Great Uncle to 22 nieces and nephews. A friend and neighbor to many. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Jean Ayscue and his parents in law Thomas and Charlene Wilger.

Bob was born and raised in Withamsville, Ohio and attended Amelia High School where he met his forever friends and eventual wife. Whether he was out causing trouble with his friends or at home wreaking havoc on his 4 sisters, he was always the dependable friend and older brother to help in times of need. Bob and the love of his life Jodie were married after high school and welcomed their 2 daughters. He spent most of his career at CG&E now Duke Energy and retired at the age of 62. After continuing to work and consult for another 3 years he finally quit working at the age of 65 to spend time at home and with his family. He was able to build his pool garage with the help of his grandsons, kept his lawn perfectly manicured, and enjoyed sitting out by his pool with a Miller Lite. His favorite annual tradition was spending 2 weeks in Florida poolside with family and friends.

Although Bob was not a hugger, he was always the first one there when something needed fixed. He would lend a tool, a truck, or a hand wherever he was asked. He loved sitting on the front porch with his grandsons sharing jokes, secrets, and stock advice. It became an amusing game to see who was able to get a hug by sneaking up on him. Bob will forever be remembered for his work ethic, great life advice, his loving banter, and inappropriate humor. He will always be our last Marlboro man.

Visitation will be held at T. P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Avenue, Mt. Washington on Friday April 14, 2023 from 5 PM to 7 PM.
