Obituary for Robert "Bob" G. Cropper

Robert (Bob) G. Cropper, age 93 of Mt. Carmel died February 22, 2021. He was born in
Tollesboro, Kentucky on October 17, 1927 to the late Worthington P and Helen C Cropper
(nee Thacker). He was the beloved husband of the late Jean Catherine Cropper (nee
Gehrlein). Survivors include children Robert Cropper Jr (Pat), Kathy Tabscott Greene (Barry)
and Steven Cropper (Poochie); also survived by his sister, Dorothy Randol, several
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Bob was also preceded in death by
his stepdaughter, Cindy Hughes-Schwarberg.

Bob demonstrated an early entrepreneurial spirit selling candy bars and his homemade root
beer to workers at Williams Horse Barn (now Coldstream Country Clubhouse) at the young
age of about 13. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II and was honorably
discharged. He went on to work at Cincinnati Container and Cincinnati Mill Machine (later
Milacron). In the mid-1950s Bob took another entrepreneurial leap to better support his family
and started his name sake business, Cropper Plumbing. He was a long time member of
American Society of Sanitary Engineering, J.B. Covert Masonic Lodge #437 and Syrian Shriners.

Bob was blessed with a huge sweet tooth. He was a long time heavy supporter of United
Dairy Farmers. He capped off nearly evening with a very healthy sized bowl of UDF
Homemade Brand chocolate ice cream. He also had a special friend who would brighten his
week by bringing him a Dairy Queen chocolate shake that was just the right size.

Family and friends will be received at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave,
Mt Washington on Friday, February 26 th from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm. Service, officiated by
Lowell E. Smith, will take place at Mt Moriah Cemetery gazebo (Commercial Blvd entrance),
686 Mt Moriah Dr, Cincinnati at 1:00 pm.
