Obituary for Robert E. Boling

Robert E. Boling, age 92, of Cincinnati, OH died Mar. 29, 2022. Robert was born Jan. 4, 1930 in Wilmette, IL. He moved to Cincinnati in 1937. Robert was a devoted family man, businessman and community volunteer. He was a proud graduate of Withrow High School, the University of Cincinnati (BBA) and Xavier University (MBA). Immediately upon graduation from UC, he served 2 years in the Army during the Korean War and achieved the rank of Master Sergeant and was awarded a Bronze Star for Meritorious Service. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He served on the Board of the Rotary Club of Cincinnati and was a Paul Harris Fellow during his 58-year membership. Serving twice as its Cincinnati Chapter President, he continued a family tradition as a member of The Sons of the American Revolution. His long career included working in purchasing and sales with Baldwin Piano, Kenner Toys, and Akers Packaging. He was a 62-year member of Maketewah Country Club where he hit a hole-in-one on #18 and served on the Board. In 1959, he joined the Church of the Redeemer where he devoted 35 years as a volunteer yard man. He is survived by his daughter Ellen B. (Doug) Zemke, step-grandsons Craig and Steven (Emily) Zemke and step-great-grandchildren Douglas, Lillian, and Henry Zemke. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clem and Augusta Boling, and his wife of 65 years, Jane B. Boling. The family thanks the staff of Marjorie P.
