Obituary for Rose Mary Gerrard (nee Savage)
Rose Mary Gerrard (nee Savage) born September 12, 1932, in Fayetteville, Ohio, passed peacefully to eternity surrounded by many of her children on July 15, 2022. She joins her beloved husband Doug, son Mark and daughter Jeanne and her parents Aileen and Clarence Savage. Rose is survived by her children, Stephanie Kemp, Valerie Almond, Jerome, Jennifer McAvoy (Harry), Marcia Krutka (Steve), Paul (Robin), Ted (Julie), Laura Beckman (Tom), Doug (Sheila), David (Cheryl), Bill, Tony (Tracee), 52 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren, and her beloved sister Patty Doyle and her in laws Jack Gerrard, Jill and Mike Koehler, and Bill Gerrard and Diane Gerrard and Theresa Gerrard.
Our Mother, Rose, was a devout Catholic and member of Guardian Angels Parish for 55 years. Rose's unwavering faith gave her strength through out her life. Rose loved life and worked to protect the unborn through the Angels for Life ministry at Guardian Angels Parish. Rose started the Life Run and enthusiastically managed it for 25 years with the help of her family. Mom spearheaded the annual Memorial of Crosses for Life on the parish front lawn. Her commitment to all pro-life endeavors was steadfast; and Mom's determination was unstoppable.
Our Mother loved flowers and in her later years she enjoyed creating bouquets to lift the spirits of her friends and neighbors. Mom was the best at sending out birthday cards to everyone and she always enjoyed spirited conversations and sharing words of wisdom. Rose's amazing dedication to her Catholic faith, to family and friends, and to country was instilled in all of us, and will not be forgotten. Mom loved the angels and sent everyone on their way with "TWA" (Travel With Angels) and always said her good nights with "SWA" (Sleep With Angels).
We will be forever grateful for our Mother's love and for all we have learned from the Best Mom in the world!
