Rosemary Lennertz (nee Aretz) wife of the late C. Robert Lennertz, beloved mother of Lawrence (Natalia) Lennertz, Carla (Stephen) Booth, Robert J. (Teresa) Lennertz, Lisa (Richard) Damico, and Amy (Tom) Sutter, dear grandmother of Andre (Meredith), Matthew (Linda), Alex (Catherine), Myles, Lauren, Aaron (Allison), Daniel, Brian, Jacqueline (Cervilio), Nicholas, Joseph, and Coleman, great-grandmother of Anastazia, Isla, Rhys, Isabella, Graham, Leonardo, and Mateo, also survived many nieces and nephews. Died Jan. 23, 2020 at age 94 years. Residence Hyde Park, formerly of Anderson Twp. Mass of Christian Burial at Bellarmine Chapel, at Xavier University, on Tues. Jan. 28, at 10 AM. Rosemary was an avid pilot at a young age being raised in an aviation family in Lafayette, IN.
She met the love of her life, Bob Lennertz, at Purdue University. After they married, they moved
to Cincinnati and raised five children together. She discovered Montessori education for her
youngest child, then earned her Master’s degree in Education at Xavier University. She taught
and ran a Montessori preschool program for many years. After retiring, she enjoyed other
activities. As a swimmer, she swam in many of the Senior Games earning a Gold medal for the
200 backstroke in Huston in 2011. She was an artist her entire life. She took many art classes
and was a member of the Women’s Art Club. She has produced a beautiful collection of work
which her family will treasure forever. As a woman of strong faith, she did a tremendous
amount of charity work with her husband Bob. She also loved to travel and together they
explored the world. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
