Obituary for Shirley M. Davidson
Shirley Modean Davidson, passed away on August 26, 2023, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 86. Born on December 31, 1936, in Maulden, Kentucky, Shirley was a compassionate and independent woman who spent much time and effort showing her care and concern for others.
Shirley's career spanned several decades, during which she worked for and managed Hughes Music Store in Norwood, Ohio. Later, she contributed her skills and expertise to Coin Acceptors (Coinco) in Sharonville, Ohio. Even after retiring, Shirley continued to work well into her 80's at Walgreens, supporting herself and demonstrating an unwavering commitment to her work ethic.
Shirley's loving and generous nature was evident in her personal relationships. She always prioritized the well-being of others before herself. She is survived by her niece Sondra Davidson, nephew Mitch (Carolyn) Davidson, niece Charlene Davidson, great niece Harmony (Matt Dodd) Gullette, great niece Belinda Gullette, and great-great niece and nephew, Melina and River. Shirley also leaves behind several other nieces, nephews, as well as many cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Washington Davidson and Barbara Marie (Witt) Davidson, and her brothers Denver, Carmon, and Ronnie Davidson. She was also predeceased by her niece, Sharon (Davidson) Baker, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Shirley's education began at Tyner Primary School and continued at Tyner High School. Her thirst for knowledge and dedication to learning served her well throughout her life.
A private service will be held in Shirley's honor, with no visitation. Interment, Coffey Cemetery, Egypt, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association, the American Heart Association, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, or Samaritan's Purse. Contributions to these organizations will honor Shirley's memory and continue to support causes that were close to her heart.
