Obituary for Wesley M. Lampe

Wesley Merritt Lampe, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on July 14, 2021 at the age of 87. Wes was born on January 11, 1934 in Cincinnati to the late Wesley and Vera Lampe (nee Maygors). He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Constance Lampe (nee May), daughter Laura Lampe Richter (Phillip), daughter-in law Cindy Lampe Clegg, grandchildren Barrett Richter (Trillion), Wesley Richter (Haley), Logan Richter, Kelly Lampe and Andrew Lampe, and great grandchildren Lucca Richter and Renan Richter. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Lampe, brothers Robert Lampe (Dorothy), Fred Lampe, and sister Ruth Lampe Leonard (James). Wes was a proud graduate of Western Hills High School, class of 1952, and earned a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Cincinnati where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Army ROTC. He went on to earn an MBA from Xavier University. Wes launched his career at Allis Chalmers in Cincinnati and later joined Post-Glover in Erlanger, Kentucky where he rose to President. Wes started two small businesses, Vers-A-Wall and Merritt Medical prior to retiring. He spent many years as a faithful member of Westwood United Methodist Church and later at Anderson Hills United Methodist Church. He loved his family unconditionally and was a man of God, leading by example. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 1 to 2:30 PM at Anderson Hills United Methodist Church, corner of Forest Rd. and Beechmont Avenue, where a Celebration of Life will follow at 2:30 PM. Memorials may be directed to Anderson Hills United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
