Obituary for William "Chuck" C. Glaser

William Charles "Chuck" Glaser, age 67, passed away of a heart attack on Sunday, June 5. He was a devoted husband of nearly 39 years to Carol (nee Bishop), a loving father of three daughters: Maria (Dan Perez), Elizabeth (Andrew) Russell, and Emily (Bret) Keough.

Chuck was born March 11, 1955 (the same birthday as his wife, Carol.) He is also survived by his sister, Lori (Stu) Zakem, his mother-in-law Helen Bishop, his brothers and sisters-in-law Janet, John, Mardia (the late Kevin Reeder), Jerry (Beth), Paul (Janet), Cathi (Rick) Ege. He was a loving and fun uncle to Aaron (Joy) Zakem, Yonathan (Nechama) Zakem, Rachel and Miriam Zakem, Luke Bishop, Nate (Hanna Ewart) Bishop, Lorielle (John) Buckingham, Ann Bishop, Jack, Matt and Leia Reeder, and a great uncle to 9. He will be remembered by countless extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Marty Glaser, and his father-in-law, Joe Bishop.

He was a loyal friend to so many, an avid gardener and fisherman, a volunteer, a helper. A truly great man.

Chuck was very intelligent, graduating second in his high school class and later from Miami University with a BS in Political Science. He loved to talk (or argue) politics, and he was never wrong.

An incredibly talented craftsman, he was a custom home builder and built or remodeled some of the finest homes in Cincinnati (including his own).

Chuck was born and raised on the east side of Cincinnati, and he was always involved in his community. He coached girls basketball and softball for over 15 years with fun-loving nicknames and memories with so many. He was a member of the St. Veronica choir for nearly two decades, and a longtime committee member and leader for the St. Veronica festival.

When his girls were in high school at McNicholas, he built and painted numerous sets for plays and musicals, and always attended the schools basketball and football games.

He loved watching Cincinnati sports and occasionally yelling at the TV The Reds, The Bengals, UC and Xavier basketball.

He was the face and name behind Chucks Best Sauces---you may have met him at Farmers Markets or craft shows around town in recent years. Chuck grew his vegetables at the Valley View Community Garden, where he met many great people who became such an important part of his life.

Most of all, Chuck loved spending time with his family. His advice to them, and everyone grieving him, would be an ode to his favorite band:

Dont you ever ask them why If they told you, you would cry So just look at them and sigh And know they love you.

Mass of Christian Burial at St. Veronica Church, Mt. Carmel, on Mon. June 13, at 10 AM. Friends may visit at T P WHITE & SONS Funeral Home 2050 Beechmont Ave. Mt. Washington on Sun. from 4-7 PM.
