Andrew T. (Andy, Papa, ATF) Fogarty passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024. He was 93 years old and lived a very full life in the love of his family. He was the son of Marguerite Edgeworth and Andrew J. Fogarty. He married Rosemary Massarella in 1954 and was the loving father of Patti (Joe) McElroy, Cathy (Dan) Busemeyer, Andy (Denise) Fogarty, and Tom (Christy) Fogarty. He was the beloved grandfather to Bridget, Joe (Sarah) and Sean McElroy, Tom and Maura Busemeyer, Andrew and Meaghan Fogarty, and Ryan and Tyler Fogarty.
Andy attended St. Mary's School and St. Xavier High School. After graduating from St. X in 1949, he attended the University of Cincinnati School of Business and graduated in 1954. While there he was active member of Delta Sigma Pi and served on its board. He was a loyal Bearcat fan until the end! After college, he married his sweetheart Rosie, and served as an officer in the U.S. Army at Ft. Bliss for 2 years. In 1957 he joined IBM and worked in marketing management positions and achieved the distinction of being the leading salesman in the Midwest region. In 1970 he joined Ohio Casualty Insurance Company as Senior Vice President responsible for Information Technology and Administrative Services. He was a respected, loyal, and professional leader, an "icon of excellence." As a founding member of the Technology Advisory Board at Miami University, Hamilton Campus, he assisted in course development of the Associate Degree in Computer Science. During his business career, he was elected Chairman of the ACCORD corporation and served on the Board and Executive Committee as well as being involved in the development of standards for the insurance industry. He was a front runner in the computer and insurance industries.
He and Rosie had 69 years of building a wonderful life together and created many fond memories in their travels around the world.
Andy was active at Guardian Angels church, serving on the school board and parish council, and in later years served as Eucharistic Minister. He possessed a strong faith and shared this with his children and grandchildren. He was a man of intelligence, integrity and loved his wife Rosie and family above all. He instilled these characteristics in his children, a gift we will always cherish.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 13 at 10:30 am at St. John Fisher Church, Newtown, where friends may visit from 9:30 am until time of Mass. Immediately following the Mass, a luncheon will be held at the Summit Hotel.
