Barbara Ann Diesel

Barbara A. Diesel (nee Schweppe) of Cincinnati, OH passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026 at the age of 84. Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Donald L. Diesel. She leaves behind her daughters Jennifer Diesel and Karen (Kelly) Lapthorn, brother Charles (Cathy) Schweppe, sister Rosemary Moore and brother-in-law Thomas Diesel. She is also survived by grandchildren Samuel, Nathan and Charles Lapthorn. Barbara will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Barb was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 28, 1942. She attended St. Mary High School where she made many life-long friends. She spent most of her working life as a teacher and met her husband Donald on a blind date. She was a wonderful mother and cherished her three grandsons. Barb will be remembered for her humor, strength and Catholic faith.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Guardian Angels Church, located at 6539 Beechmont Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45230. Family and friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
