Bruce Albert Anderson, passed away on December 3, 2025 at the age of 88. Bruce was born on January 10, 1937 in Marquette, Michigan to Albert John and Olive Faith (Johnston) Anderson. He spent his childhood causing harmless havoc throughout the city. He loved to regale his family and friends with tales of sledding down Hewitt St, trying to buy cigars at the age of 5 from The Beach Store and his unlikely pet "Joe the Crow" who barked like a dog and would always wake him with a "Brucie get up". He graduated from Graveraet High School in 1954, and received his bachelors degree from Northern Michigan University and master's degree from Northwestern University. He worked for Michigan Bell for over 30 years until he retired and began a second career at Northern Michigan University in fundraising. Bruce loved life, loved talking, loved people and loved telling jokes. His children often made fun of the fact that every meal he ate was the "best meal" he'd ever had. He lived joyfully and unreservedly, always full of compliments and quips.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Helen, his children Craig, Doug (Betty), Matt (Whitney), Lindsay (Matt), Josh (Marci); his grandchildren Jordan, Josh, Joleen, Ali, William, Isla, Greta, Henry, Axel, Owen and Annaliese and his great-grandchildren Easton, Ace and Prince. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Olive, his sister Betty, his daughter-in-law Kristi and his great-granddaughter Liviya.
The family would like to thank Dr. Javier Baez, the staff of Otterbein Middletown, Atrium Medical Center and Ohio's Hospice for their compassionate care.
A celebration of life will be held in Marquette this summer.
