David K. Downey

David Keith Downey, 76 of Batavia, passed away August 5, 2026. Dave was born on May 21, 1950 in Aurora, IN to the late William K. Downey and Ellen L. Martin Downey. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Jan Fehrman and Sue Eubank and his brother-in-law, Bob Fehrman.

Dave was a loving father to his three sons, Bill (Elizabeth) Downey, Johnny Downey (Mark Lutterbeck) and Tom (Deena) Downey. He was Grandad to Jack and Harper Downey and Graham and Gray Downey. He is also survived by Lou Ann Downey, several nieces and nephews.

Dave was proud of having earned his Eagle Scout award at the age of 17. He was a graduate of Aurora High School and went on to attend the University of Cincinnati while co-oping for the Dyment Co where he worked for over 20 years. Together with his best friend and business partner, Don Miller, they opened On Display, Ltd in 1997 retiring in December 2025.

Memorial service will be held at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave., Mt. Washington, on Wednesday, August 12 where family and friends may visit from 10:00 - 11:00 with service following. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery 3635 E. Laughery Creek Rd., Aurora, Indiana 47001 at 12:30.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to Cincinnati Lab Rescue, Freestore Foodbank or charity of your choice which would be an appreciated tribute to Dave.
