Dravo "Jack" Harris, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2026. Born on March 23, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jack lived a life of dedication, hard work, and love for his family and friends.
Jack grew up in Russell Springs, Kentucky, and met his wife Barbara (nee) Holder. They married on August 21, 1958. She preceded him in death on August 18, 2003. Together, they had a son, Tracey Harris (Kendra); and daughter, Teresa Harris-Mason (Kenneth).
Jack loved spending time with his four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Grandchildren include Justin Harris, Benjamin Harris, Lance Mason, and Brooke Mason. Josephine Harris is his great-granddaughter.
Jack was preceded in death by his father Asber Harris; mother Estella Harris; sister Vilos Hodge (William); sister Martha Stephens (Bobby); and sister Mary Ruth Gadberry (Glen). He is survived by sister Vida Kelsey (Bernard); sister Jane Wilson (Garlin); and David Harris (Susanna).
Jack proudly served in the United States Army after enlisting on April 23, 1962, and was discharged on August 13, 1963. He served as a medic while stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. After returning home, he continued working at General Motors Assembly Plant in Norwood, Ohio. He spent 46 years in the automotive industry, where he was known for his keen sense of humor and unwavering work ethic.
In Jack's free time, he enjoyed working on home improvement projects and took pride in tackling jobs many people found challenging. There was no project that intimidated him, whether it was building decks, bathrooms, electrical work, plumbing, installing cabinets, or laying new flooring (just to name a few). He enjoyed learning new skills, solving problems, and seeing the transformation of a project from start to finish.
