Edwin "Bill" William Potts III

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Edwin "Bill" William Potts, III, age 72, of Cincinnati, Ohio, who passed away on April 14, 2026.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Sandy Potts; his children, Ryann Delph (Adam), Lauren Murphy (Tim), and Danny Potts (Sydney); his grandchildren, Taylor Light, Cameron Light, Erela Delph, Teagan Murphy, Liam Murphy, Declan Murphy, Hudson Harris, and Harlynn Potts; and his brothers, Dave Potts and Tim Potts. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Potts, and his brothers Jay Potts and Jeff Potts.

Bill was born in Cincinnati, where he spent his life. He was a hardworking man who found joy in the simple things. He loved his days on the softball field, time spent bowling, cheering on Cincinnati sports teams, and was a devoted fan of music, especially the songs of John Mellencamp. Those who knew him will remember these parts of his life and the moments they shared with him along the way.

Bill will be remembered by his family and all who knew him in their own ways, through the moments and memories they shared.

A private family service will be held.
