Jean Stratton (nee Steinkuhl)

Jean Stratton (nee Steinkuhl) passed away Friday morning, September 19, 2025 at the age of 96. She was born September 30, 1928, in Cincinnati, OH, daughter of the late Henry and Minnie Steinkuhl.

Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Stratton. Loving mother to Keith (Diana) Stratton, and Mike Stratton. A wonderful grandmother to Bethany (Jonny) Avellone, Kristin (Cody) Steele, and Kelsey Stratton. Great grandmother to John Fredrick Steele IV and Henry Keith Steele. Dear sister to Carole Wallace. She is also survived by her two nieces, Kelli Klein and Krysta Wallace.

Jean was a 1946 graduate of Withrow High School. She met her husband Howard at a social club at the Williams YMCA in Walnut Hills. They were married on November 6, 1954. They resided with their two young boys for many years on Redfield Place in Mt. Washington.

Jean was an employee at Mt. Washington Bakery for many years. She helped open the bakery three days a week and she also helped decorate birthday and wedding cakes.

Jean will be missed greatly by her family.

A celebration of life will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on October 7, 2025. Visitation will take place at 10:00am with service starting at 11:00am. Burial will follow the service at Pierce Township Cemetery.
