Georgia Thomas (Mallery) Harmon of Anderson Township, Ohio passed away after a short illness on April 10, 2026 at the age of 85 surrounded by her loving family. Georgia was born in Newport, Kentucky to Bertha (Shuman) Mallery and Carl Mallery on September 11, 1940. She was the fifth of seven children and grew up throughout northern Kentucky while graduating from Newport High School.
Shortly later she met the love of her life, Wilbur "Will" Bernard Harmon, on a blind date and eventually marrying on February 11, 1960. They built a long happy life together in Anderson Township, helping their children succeed academically and athletically. While Will was a beloved youth sport coach for his children's teams, Georgia was the organizational brains behind the equipment, apparel, food and travel logistics that was needed for every practice and contest. She could be counted on to enthusiastically cheer on her own kids as well as everyone on the team while making sure officials made the calls to keep the kids safe while playing.
Georgia worked various jobs throughout the years receiving praise for her strong office managerial skills while helping support the family with amazing annual family vacations and other extras for her family.
Georgia was most proud of being a mother to her children, helping provide a home with much love, support and laughter. Her quick wit, wonderful laugh and smiling eyes will be deeply missed.
Georgia is predeceased by her parents and husband, along with her siblings Faythe Geaslen, Carl Mallery, Patricia Peak and Michael Mallery. She is survived by her children, Wilbur "Bill" Scott Harmon, his wife Lisa Anne and her grandchildren Chelsea and Lexi; her daughter Dana Leigh Harmon and her wife Darnell Gail Adams; her siblings Bert Gaeddert and Jack Mallery; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews along with longtime family friends and neighbors.
The Harmon family wishes to thank the Anderson Mercy Hospital Cardiac Care Unit nurses and doctors for providing compassionate care in her final days.
