Gregory Don Delev

Gregory Don Delev, 65, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died peacefully March 15, 2026, at Hospice of Cincinnati, Anderson after a five-year battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Greg was born on February 28, 1961 in Huntington, WV, the son of Grosdon (Don) and Janet Kemp Delev. Soon after, the family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where they lived in Mt Washington. He graduated from McNicholas High School and, upon graduation enlisted in the National Guard and enrolled at The Ohio State University. While a student, he served as a Page for the Ohio General Assembly and graduated with a degree in political science. He also was also a member of the Chi Phi fraternity.

In 1986, Greg married his college sweetheart, Debbie Sickle Delev, who survives him. He is also survived by two children, Brittney Delev (Robert Kassinger) and Isaac Delev, both of Cincinnati; and siblings Minka Misali, Betsy Sholar, Michael (Leslie) Delev. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In 1992, Greg graduated from the University of Toledo College of Law. After working for a few years with a Cincinnati law firm, he launched and built his own successful law practice, becoming a special council with the state of Ohio.

He loved spending time with his family, whether traveling together, taking Isaac and his friends camping in the Red River Gorge, coaching Isaac's soccer team or supporting Brittney's horseback riding lessons and competitions. He also was a history buff, particularly of the Civil War era, and a lifelong Ohio State football fan who followed the team as a season ticket holder and attended many bowl games. His passion for local politics led him to help organize a citywide Tea Party. He also entered the political arena as a candidate in a race for state representative.

Greg was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's in January 2021. Despite the diagnosis, he persevered in living a normal life as long as he could. He sold his law practice and retired to spend more time with his wife and his children. Debbie made it her mission to keep him engaged and active. Together, they enjoyed volunteering, hiking and many road trips, both near and far. In early 2025, he moved to Arden Courts, a memory care facility in Anderson Township. There the staff compassionately cared for him as his disease progressed. His lasting gift was donating his brain for research and science.

A Memorial Service will be held April 11, 5:00pm at the Anderson Center (7850 Five Mile Rd, 45230). A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at the same location until 8pm.
