Harry "Butch" John Grome III, died peacefully in his home on Friday, February 20, at the age of 73. Loving husband to Peggy R. Grome (Wright). Survived by daughters, Sakina Joanna Grome (Ahmad Abdullah) and Lindsay Grome (Johann Gebauer), and their mother Diana Grome (Wolf). Grandfather to Zeke Gebauer, Warren Gebauer, Hugh Gebauer, Idrees Abdullah, Amina Abdullah and Noah Abdullah. Stepfather to Kim Cook, Becky Cumby, Carla Elza and Brandy Dearwater and many step grandchildren. Preceded in death by his mother Juanita Grome (Winchester), father Harry John Grome Sr. and brother Daniel Grome of Norwood.
Butch was a proud graduate of Purcell High School, worked for many years at NuTone and then at a second career as the Loading Dock Supervisor at the Millennium Hotel in downtown Cincinnati. Throughout his life he enjoyed working on his yard, reading, and socializing with friends and did so during his last seven years of retirement. Formerly a resident of Withamsville and Batavia, he most recently resided in Mt. Washington.
