Harry DeMaio, 91, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on September 19, 1934, in New York, New York, Harry lived a long and accomplished life marked by professional excellence, creative passion, and deep devotion to his family.
Harry earned his bachelor's degree from Fordham University and went on to receive an MBA from Pace University. His academic achievements laid the foundation for a distinguished career in business. Over the years, he held numerous executive positions at IBM and Deloitte, where his leadership and insight left a lasting impact on colleagues and clients alike.
Before embarking on his corporate journey, Harry served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, stationed in Monmouth, New Jersey. His time in the military reflected his sense of duty and discipline-qualities that would define much of his personal and professional life.
A man of many talents and interests, Harry was not only a successful businessman but also a prolific author. He wrote both business books and novels, sharing his knowledge and imagination with readers around the world. His love for storytelling extended beyond the page; he was also an actor and singer who brought energy and charisma to every performance.
Harry's creativity knew no bounds. He was an avid model ship builder whose craftsmanship reflected patience and precision. He found joy in dancing and took pride in being a skilled pilot. A connoisseur of wine, he appreciated life's finer pleasures with enthusiasm and grace.
Above all else, Harry was a devoted family man. He shared 66 loving years of marriage with his wife Virginia. Together they built a strong family that includes their sons Mark DeMaio and Andrew DeMaio; daughters-in-law Cynthia DeMaio (Weeks) and Lorraine DeMaio (Bole); and granddaughters Sarah Cox and Taylor Cumberledge. His guidance as a father and mentor will be remembered with deep affection.
Harry was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Logan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on October 7, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 7820 Beechmont Avenue. Friends may visit the church from 9:30-10:30AM. Inurnment will be held immediately after on October 7, 2025 at Gate of Heaven 11000 Montgomery Road.
