Henry "Hank" C. Yeiser

Henry C. "Hank" Yeiser passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, at age 79, at his home in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Hank was the son of the late Mary M. Yeiser and Charles F. Yeiser. He attended Cincinnati Country Day School and Cornell University.

Hank lived with an enduring curiosity about the world around him. Over the course of his life, he made homes in Cincinnati, California, New Mexico, New Zealand, Colorado, and, more recently, Boca Grande, Florida. He was drawn to new places and experiences and had a natural interest in the people, culture, art, and character that made each place distinct. Wherever he went, Hank made connections easily. In Boca Grande, his outgoing personality and familiar presence around the island with his rescue dog Dude affectionately earned him the nickname "the mayor."

Flying was one of Hank's passions. As a private pilot, he found both freedom and adventure in the air, but he also found a way to make that passion meaningful to others by volunteering as a pilot for Angel Flight.

Hank was equally appreciative of the arts. He was a longtime devotee of opera, and always on the lookout for paintings. He built a collection over many years that reflects both his eye and his appreciation for artists and their work. Art was not simply an interest to Hank; it was part of the way he experienced and understood the world.

Independent, curious, generous, and unmistakably himself, Hank followed his interests with enthusiasm and lived life on his own terms. He valued beauty, discovery, and good company, and he leaves behind friends in many of the places he called home.

Hank is survived by his brother, Charles F. Yeiser Jr. of Worcester, Vermont; his sisters, Margaret Y. Hawkins of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Ellen M. Yeiser of Castle Rock, Colorado; four nieces and nephews; five grandnieces and grandnephews.

In accordance with Hank's wishes, a celebration of his life is planned for Boca Grande, October 26th at 5:30pm at the Eagle Grill and Dockside, 220 Harbor Dr, Boca Grande, FL.
