Henry "Hank" Marchand of Cincinnati, Ohio, originally of Detroit, Michigan, passed away on August 17, 2026, at the age of 102. He was born on October 13, 1923, to Jerome and Irma Marchand. He had one brother, Omer, and his wife Leona, both preceded him in death.

Hank was married to Carol Ann (Dorn) Marchand, who preceded him in death, for over 62 years. Carol was the love of his life and their devotion to each other was unwavering. Hank and Carol met at the Welfare Department, fell in love and embarked on an incredible journey through life together. He was blessed with Carol's siblings and their spouses, Harold and Bertie Dorn (both deceased), Roger and Wanda Dorn (both deceased), Joan and Tim Barrett (both deceased), Clyde (deceased) and Patricia Dorn, D. Gail and Kate (deceased) Dorn, Elaine Herzog, and Neil and Stacey Dorn. Hank is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Hank was a proud WWII veteran, a member of the 126th AAA Gun Battalion within the 9th Army Air Corps, was stationed in England where he shot down Buzz Bombs. Later in Belgium and Germany his battalion landed in Normandy shortly after D-Day. His battalion providing crucial air defense for the Allied Forces against the German Luftwaffe attacks.

After the military, attended and graduated from Xavier University utilizing the GI Bill. Hank dedicated his life to the Welfare Department. He was proud to be the head of the Food Stamp Program and truly cared for every individual he helped. He proudly retired from the Welfare Department.

Hank was an incredibly kind man who dedicated himself to his Catholic faith through Guardian Angels Church. Hank and Carol loved welcoming friends and family into their home for all occasions. Hank loved to catch up with everyone and talk about current events, what was happening in your life and of course the Bengals. The Rosary Society from GA lovingly followed Hank to The Ashton of Anderson coming to say the Rosary with him and he loved all of the visits he received from his GA friends.

There were so many people that helped Hank over the last year and a half. The staff, nurses and aides at The Ashton of Anderson and the VA of Clermont County. Their care and kindness to Hank was incredible and so appreciated.

Who can forget Hank's incredible, booming laugh? It was infectious. He dedicated his life to service, kindness, empathy and his love for his family and community, those will be his lasting gifts. He will forever be in our hearts. He will be profoundly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Guardian Angels Church on Thursday, August 20th at 10:30 am where family and friends may visit from 9:30 am until time of Mass. If desired, memorials may be directed to Guardian Angels Church or to the Veteran's organization of the donors choice. T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home serving the family.
