Ida K. Messmer

Ida K. Messmer, 92, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2023. Born June 29, 1931, she was the last person born in the Clark Stone House on Clough Pike in Anderson Township. Ida worked for over thirty years at Western Southern Life Insurance Co. and was a lifelong member if Guardian Angels Catholic Church. After retirement, she spent many hours serving as a volunteer at Mercy Hospital in Anderson. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Joseph I. Messmer Jr., Matilda Zerhusen, Albert Messmer and Agnes Menkhaus and by her niece, Mary Jo Griffin. She is survived by her niece, Carol Ann Bloom (Gary), nephews David Messmer (Debbie), James Messmer (Mary), William Zerhusen (Barbara), and Edward Zerhusen (Kim), as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Guardian Angels Church, 6539 Beechmont Ave. Friends may visit the church on Tuesday from 9:30am-10:30am. T.P.
