Jean Ann Farnsworth (nee Swensen), age 78, passed away on July 10, 2026. Jean Ann is survived by her two sons Ron (Chris) of West Harrison, IN, and John of Parma, OH; brother Carl Jr ("Skip") of Arkansas City, KS; grandson Ryan and fiancee Maddie of West Harrison, IN; niece Shawna Swain of Murfreesboro, TN: sisters in law Connie Hoyt of Burden, KS; Norma (Richard) Vaughn of Ravensdale, WA; and beloved sister in law Georgia Martin ("Sis") of Winfield, KS; close friends Patricia Kelly (and Buddy!) of Brookville, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was born January ,9, 1948 in Dallas, OR to Frances Ann Swensen (nee Finlay) and Carl J Swensen (both deceased), and raised primarily in West Mineral, KS. She graduated from Winfield High School (KS), in May1966; and married Ronald Farnsworth a month later. While married, she lived a typical nomadic military life, living in the Philippines, North Dakota, Missouri and Colorado

Following the divorce in 1979, she raised her two sons alone, and went to work at Hewlett-Packard in Colorado Springs, where she worked for 12 years.

She then moved to McMinnville, OR and worked as a systems creator for the Yamhill County ESD.

In the mid 1990's, she moved back to Junction City, Kansas, to be the caregiver for her mother and other relatives (Tom Llewlyn, and Ruth Turner).

Her generous nature, stubbornness, loyalty, curiosity, strength, resourcefulness, and sense of humor were what people will remember her for. She could "MacGyver" anything. And loved to chomp an onion like an apple! She raised her two boys to be independent and self-reliant, just as she was. She taught them to appreciate differences, find beauty in the simple, and to think outside the box (tacos for Christmas dinner was a much-loved tradition). Despite having many health challenges and issues in her later years, she continued to evolve, and her light continued to shine. An ordained minister in the Universal Life Church, she was also baptized in 2025. God and she were on a first name basis.

A lover of all things purple, Diet Dr Pepper, butterflies, birds, the Kansas City Chiefs, yellow roses, angels, a good steak, watching tennis, wind chimes, laughter, and teddy bears, she enjoyed sharing her interests with others. No matter where she lived, Kansas had her heart and was always "Home.". She was a prankster. A force of nature. A true original. One of a kind. Irreplaceable.

She will be missed.
