It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Arthon, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Judith passed peacefully on July 12, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was 82 years old. Born on August 9, 1943, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Judith was the cherished daughter of Raymond and Lois Handley. She was a beacon of love and warmth, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her kindness and compassion were felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Judith's formative years were spent in Cincinnati, where she graduated from Withrow High School in 1961. Her dedication to personal growth and her passion for beauty and style led her to pursue a career in cosmetology. In 1965, she graduated from cosmetology school and began a fulfilling career at McAlpin's, where she worked as a hairdresser and cosmetologist for over 40 years.
Her clients often became her friends, drawn not only by her skill but by the genuine care and warmth she shared with them. In 1963, Judith married the love of her life, Russell, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family. Her family was her pride and joy, and her greatest happiness came from spending time with her daughters, Nancy and Dolores, her seven grandchildren, and her four great-grandchildren. Judith's devotion to her family was evident in every aspect of her life, and her love served as the foundation upon which her family thrived.
Judith was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Lois, her sister Patricia Benn, her brother Michael Handley, her sister Debra Soudrette, and her son-in-law Richard Haynes III.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, carried on by her devoted husband of 63 years, Russell; her daughters Nancy Haynes and Dolores Van Pelt; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends who were like family to her. Judith's life was a testament to the power of love and the importance of family. Her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness will be remembered by all who knew her. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
A celebration of Judith's life will be held on July 21, 2026, at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, located at 2050 Beechmont Avenue, Mt Washington, OH 45230. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by services from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Judith will be laid to rest at Mt Moriah Cemetery immediately following the service.
