Judith Elaine Wernersbach

January 2, 1928 — September 22, 2025

Judith Elaine Wernersbach, 97, of Anderson Township died on September 22, 2025, following complications of a stroke. She was born on January 2, 1928, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to James and Agnes Garner. She is survived by her son Glen Wernersbach (Melissa) and her daughter Diane Webber (John). She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Carrie Higgins (Tim Higgins Jr.), Jaimie Webber, Jonathan Webber (Whitney), Philip Wernersbach (Paloma), and Lydia Wernersbach (Timmy) as well as her nine great grandchildren, Keira, Lexy, Evin, and Jenna Grouse and Matthew, Mollie, Aubrey, John, and Adilyn Webber.

She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Wernersbach, son Alan Wernersbach, daughter Alice Wernersbach, an infant son, grandson David Wernersbach, as well as her parents and brother James Garner.

Elaine was an alum of Hughes High School in Cincinnati. She was a talented artist, and she attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati during senior high school year and her freshman year of college. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Cincinnati and joined Zeta Tau Alpha sorority while attending UC. She met her husband, Al, who was also a UC student and fraternity member, on a blind date. After graduating from college, she served as a draftsman for the City of Cincinnati until starting her family. Elaine went back to college later, earning an MBA from Xavier University. She and her husband owned Jetcom, Inc., a graphic arts and professional photographic supply business started by Al in the early 60's, and operated it for many years before selling it to Fuji Films and retiring in 1995. Elaine shared stories of her younger years as a depression era child and growing up in Cincinnati. Through her life experiences she developed a pioneer spirit, approaching life with fierce determination and resilience. She was an excellent homemaker and a lover of family, gardening, birds, and Charley Harper art. She took immaculate care of the mid-century modern home she and her husband built in Anderson Hills, and she cherished living there independently until she was 94 years old. Her neighbors, young and old, were dear friends as were others from her past, many of whom she outlived. She spent countless hours researching and documenting family genealogy and sharing stories of information learned thru the process. She was a current member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Taliferro Chapter and past member of the Cincinnati Women's Club, Cincinnati Gardening Club, and St Timothy's Episcopal Church. Despite her frugality, Elaine never passed a Salvation Army bell ringer without slipping a dollar into their red bucket. She and her husband sponsored the building of three Habitat for Humanity homes in the Over the Rhine area of Cincinnati due to her desire to support others inthe community where she grew up.

Elaine's final few years were spent at SEM Haven Care Center in Milford, Ohio, where she met and leaves behind many friends. Elaine's family wishes to express their deepest appreciation for the excellent care and love shown to her by her devoted caregivers while she was a resident there.
