Karl Michael Feltman, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, February 13, 2026. Born in Toledo, Ohio in 1940 to Michael and Mary Feltman, Karl lived a life defined by education, family, and lifelong passions.
Karl was the husband of Carol Feltman and devoted father to Michael (Laura), Matthew (Cindy), and Martin (Dawn) Feltman, and Mary Kathryn (Mike) Herron . He was a proud grandfather to Monica and Andy; Alex and Nicholas; Jack, Charlie, and Henry; and Verdi and Iris. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Feltman.
Karl attended high school at St. Francis in Toledo. Karl studied engineering while playing football for the University of Miami, where he proudly supported the Hurricanes throughout his life. He served in the United States Army in the Corps of Engineers. He earned his Masters Degree in Education from University of Toledo. He later earned his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and remained an enthusiastic Wolverines fan. Karl moved to Cincinnati in 1976, where he spent the majority of his career as a respected and dedicated administrator at Indian Hill High School and then for Boone County in Kentucky. Over the years, he positively influenced countless students, families, and fellow educators.
After retiring from education, Karl developed a passion for the world of championship dogs, traveling across the country to shows and competitions. He proudly took his first dog, Archie, to the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show - a highlight of his retirement years. Through this experience, he built many lasting friendships within the dog-show community.
Karl will be remembered for his steady presence, commitment to education, love of family, and enthusiasm for the pursuits that brought him joy. He was deeply loved by his family, former students, colleagues, and many friends.
