Kathleen R. Hayes, 77, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully of natural causes on February 1, 2026. A devoted mother, sister, and friend, Kathleen’s life was defined by her strong work ethic, honesty, and the care she gave to those she loved. Born on September 9, 1948, in Cincinnati, Kathleen was raised in Owensville, Ohio. She attended Owensville Elementary and Saint Louis Elementary before graduating from McNicholas High School in 1966.

From a young age, Kathleen displayed a natural talent for music, sewing, and creativity. She loved to make people laugh and was a master of sarcasm. She found joy in singing and playing the organ but truly excelled in tailoring and graphic arts. Her ability to bring precision and artistry to everything she touched was unmatched. Her early career began at Webster’s Men’s Wear, where her tailoring skills gained admiration from both clients and colleagues. She later worked from home as a professional tailor while supporting her children.

Determined to continue learning and providing for those she loved, Kathleen attended Live Oaks Vocational School, where she discovered a natural aptitude for computers. Her skills led her to positions at Media That Works, Chiquita, Catholic Health Initiative, and finally Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where she found a deep sense of fulfillment. Kathleen retired after achieving her personal goal of paying off her home—an accomplishment that brought her great pride.

Outside of her professional life, Kathleen found companionship and joy in her four beloved standard poodles, all carefully trained and cherished. She enjoyed summer days spent swimming at Coney, weekend shopping trips, and Sunday dinners with her sister and best friend, Madeline.

Kathleen is survived by her daughter Michelle Cobb and sons William Marlar and Brian Hayes; 5 grandchildren. Rebecca, Christian, Joshua, Carson, and Liam along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.

Her humor, honesty, integrity, and determination will forever remain an inspiration to those who knew her.

The Funeral will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Friday, February 13th, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Reception immediately following, then burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Montgomery Road.
