Kenen "Ken" Moody Edgington, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and true Music Man, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, at the age of 79.
Born in 1945, Ken was a proud Ohio State graduate and lifelong musician. He majored in trumpet performance and played in both the marching band and symphony orchestra. While trumpet was his formal focus, Ken's heart found music wherever it could be shared-most days, he'd sit down at the piano for his wife Peggy, who lovingly called him the "Music Man," a title earned through daily melodies that filled their home. He also delighted in playing the accordion just for fun.
Ken's career at Baldwin Piano in Cincinnati spanned over 30 years, where his passion for music and people came together beautifully. In 1977, he married Peggy, and together they shared decades of partnership, laughter, and adventure. Following his lifelong dream, they relocated to Bigfork, Montana, where they farmed sweet cherries and made countless memories.
Ken was an optimist and generous spirit-talk about someone who lifted others quietly but deeply. He brought light, music, and peace into every room, and his presence was its own gift.
He is survived by his loving wife Peggy; sons Nick and Todd; and four grandchildren-Grant Moody, Merrill, Effie, and Rosie-each of whom cherished being in his presence. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Hazel Ledford, and sisters, Kay Monjar and Dava Biehl.
A celebration of Ken's life will be held in Bigfork, Montana at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Cincinnati Hospice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital -or you may honor him through A Living Tribute by planting a tree in his name.
