Kevin Crago, 65, a resident of Anderson Township, Ohio, died peacefully at Hospice of Cincinnati, Anderson, on February 8, 2026, from complications of glioblastoma.
He was born on November 23, 1960, in Muncie, Indiana, the son of Ed and Beth Whitney Crago. He grew up in the Muncie area and graduated from Cowan High School in 1979, where he lettered in basketball and baseball. He captained the 1979 baseball team, pitched a perfect game that year, and led the Blackhawks to the Delaware County Championship. He graduated from Ball State University, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. After graduation, he worked at WLBC in Muncie before embarking on a successful career in sales, retiring in 2022 after 29 years with the Solo Cup/Dart Container Company.
In 1989, he married Janice Dunsford, who survives him. He is also survived by his three children: Audrey (Jake) of Cincinnati, Ohio; Leah of Columbus, Ohio; and Joe also of Cincinnati; one grandson, Luca; and a sister, Molly Kiron of Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Even though he declared "I'm done" at the end of many seasons, Kevin couldn't abandon his lifelong love for the Cincinnati Reds. He was also an IndyCar racing fan, making the trek to the Indianapolis 500 for more than 40 years. His awe of space travel and the astronauts who bravely explored the new frontier inspired Kevin to collect space travel memorabilia, which included autographs from nearly all the men who walked on the moon.
Kevin felt a responsibility to help others. He served as a deacon at Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church, where he was a longtime member, and volunteered at the SEM Food Pantry. He was an altruistic living kidney donor in 2019, and with his death donated his corneas to give two people sight. During his four-year remission from glioblastoma, Kevin volunteered with the American Brain Tumor Association as a mentor to support other people living with the disease. He was proud of his work with Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs, where he served as a consumer reviewer on peer panels reviewing applications for funding of research on glioblastoma and other neurological cancers. He knew he was carrying the voice of all those diagnosed with glioblastoma, bringing a patient perspective to advance research and improve the lives of patients and their families.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21, at 11:00 am at Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church (6474 Beechmont Ave.), with visitation at 10:00 and a reception following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SEM Food Pantry, the Glioblastoma Research Organization, or the Gary Sinese Foundation.
