Laurence (Larry) Duncan Kennedy, Jr., born June 23, 1936 in Fostoria, Ohio and raised as "Pete" in Ashland, Ohio, passed away on August 23rd at the age of 90. He lived in Amelia, Ohio.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Geneva and Laurence, Sr., sister, Kay Stentz and brother-in-law, Lee Stentz, of Ashland. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Patsy (née Sanford) Kennedy, loving daughter Terrie Williamson (Steve) and loving sons Douglas Kennedy (Kevin Boyle) and David Kennedy (Sandy). He was the proud grandfather of Sarah Grosser (Chris), Erin Williamson (Jeremy Blasch), Dustin, Lynsey and Brooklyn Kennedy and great-grandfather of Colton, Aiden and Jace Grosser. He is also survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Jackie Sanford, of Ashland, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Larry was a printer who transplanted from Ashland to Cincinnati in 1967. He was a man of faith, a post-conflict U.S. Army veteran of the Korean war, a family man, a good neighbor and a longtime production manager at the Nielsen Lithographing Company in Hyde Park where he managed the Reds and Bengals accounts. In retirement, Larry was a long-time volunteer at Anderson Mercy Hospital and an annual bell ringer with the Salvation Army, a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather, and a loyal Reds, Bengals and Buckeyes fan.
Funeral service will be held at Amelia Methodist Church, 19 E. Main St., Amelia, OH. 45102, on Thursday, August 27th at 11:30 a.m. where family and friends may visit from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Memorial donations may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
