Lois E. Galloway

Lois E. Galloway (nee Carlson) age 99 of Anderson Twp., passed away December 16, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late James A. Galloway, devoted mother of Diane (Rick Scanlon and the late Fred) Smith, Thomas (Susan) Galloway, Janet (Mark) Weber, and the late Barbara Sowder, caring mother-in-law of Lonnie Sowder.

Lois was a loving grandmother of Sean (Jessica) Smith, Abel Alex (Brittany) Smith, Amy (Matt) Bland, Kim Smith, Zac Smith, Ryan (Maija) Galloway, Jennifer (Alex) Harpring, Laura (Justin) Person, Katherine Weber, Jonathan (Lara) Weber, Jason (Kelli), Brian (Meredith) Sowder and the late Erin Smith. She was also blessed with 22 cherished great-grandchildren.

Lois found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved the outdoors, whether hiking local trails with her walking club, enjoying trips to the beach with family, or making the memorable journey to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. She had a deep love for animals, found beauty and comfort in flowers, and delighted in the changing seasons. She also had a passion for music and dancing.

Lois cherished family gatherings and the time spent with those she loved most. She is fondly remembered by her extended family and many friends who will miss her deeply. Lois touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her through her warmth, and generous spirit—qualities that will be remembered always. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives on in all of us. Funeral service will be held at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave., Mt. Washington, on Friday, December 26th at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that any donations to be directed to the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA)
